Green Gables Heritage Place
“It’s been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.”
-Lucy Maud Montgomery
I had to use this quote from Anne ito convince my husband to join me at Green Gables Heritage Place. He does hold a soft spot in his heart for Anne, but did not feel visiting the place that Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables novels were based on was something he needed to do twice (That's right, I dragged him here on two separate occasions).
I'm not sure if it is my love for Anne, the delicious raspberry cordial, the attention to detail found in each room, the haunted woods or getting to wear a red braided wig in a wagon that draws me to this place. Green Gables Heritage Place is located on 8619 Cavendish Road and admission for adults is around $7 (Individuals under 17 are free!).
The Site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Home
After strolling along The Haunted Wood trail, I stumbled across The Site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Home. No buildings remain, but for $3 an adult, you can walk the property where L.M. Montgomery wrote Anne of Green Gables.
It was another great day at Green Gables Heritage Place. In preparation for my next trip to the island (Where I obviously plan to take my husband here a third time), I am currently searching for new and convincing quotes from Anne. Suggestions welcome!
